Sri Lanka, Feb. 16 -- Batch mates of slain lawyer Buddhika Mallawarachchi said today that the progress of the probe into his killing is far from satisfactory.

The batch mates who are members of Young Lawyers' for Democracy said the four persons who have been arrested so far are not the prime suspects.

"One person who has been arrested is one who has supplied the gun to the killer. Another has been a supplier of narcotic drugs. One wonders as to why the police have been inactive till the actual killer had got away," Attorney-at-Law Sumudu Kekulandala told a media briefing.

"The incident had taken place three days ago and we wonder what the law enforcement officers are up to," he added.
