Sri Lanka, May 26 -- The Sri Lanka Navy has been directed to take all necessary measures to prevent unauthorised entry of Indian fishermen into Sri Lankan territorial waters and to intensify efforts to curb drug trafficking disguised as fishing activities.
The directive was issued following a high-level discussion held recently at the Parliament premises between the Ministry of Fisheries, Aquaculture and Marine Resources and the Ministry of Defence. The meeting was chaired by Minister of Fisheries, Aquatic Sciences and Marine Resources Ramalingam Chandrasekhar.
