Sri Lanka, June 9 -- Showery conditions are expected to intensify in the southwestern part of the island from tomorrow (10), accompanied by strong wind gusts over the island and in the surrounding sea areas, the Meteorology Department said.

In a weather advisory issued today, the Met Department urged the public to remain attentive to future forecasts and updates as adverse conditions develop.

According to the forecast, showers will occur at several places in the sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Hambantota via Colombo and Galle. Additionally, showers or thundershowers are expected at a few places in the sea areas off the coast from Mannar to Mullaitivu via Kankasanthurai during the evening or night.
