Sri Lanka, July 22 -- Shan Yahampath, the former private secretary to the ex-Minister of Labour and Foreign Employment, Manusha Nanayakkara, who was arrested over bribery allegations, has been released on bail.

Colombo Additional Magistrate Harshana Kakunawala today granted bail to the suspect, setting two sureties of Rs. 2.5 million each. A travel ban was also imposed on him.

According to the charges, during the selection process of an external training institution to conduct a workshop for officers attached to the Divisional Employment Service Units, the suspect allegedly solicited money from a proposed institution and improperly intervened in the procurement process.
