Sri Lanka, Dec. 10 -- Principals, teachers, and non-academic staff of all schools reopening on December 16 have been instructed to report for duty on December 15, the Ministry of Education announced today.

Education Ministry Secretary Nalaka Kaluwewa said a relaxed dress policy will be implemented for students as well as academic and non-academic staff in schools located in areas affected by the recent disaster situation.

In a statement issued to the media, Kaluwewa outlined several key concerns, including the impact of adverse weather on the school system, ongoing restoration work, the resumption of the second phase of the third school term for 2025, and the arrangements for conducting the GCE Advanced Level Examination.
