Colombo, April 9 -- Colombo Additional Magistrate Kemintha Perera today ordered the exhumation of the body of Sathsara Nimesh, who died while in the custody of the Welikada Police, to conduct a fresh postmortem examination by a three-member panel of medical experts.

The order was issued following a request made by the aggrieved party.

In a further report submitted to court yesterday (08), the CID informed that the initial postmortem report did not specify a cause of death. However, ongoing investigations include the analysis of blood samples submitted to the Government Analyst. The investigation is also focusing on the deceased's unusual behavioral patterns and the individuals who interacted with him shortly before his death.
