Sri Lanka, Sept. 1 -- The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has reportedly informed former Presidential Secretary Saman Ekanayake that he is not required to appear before the CID today, as previously scheduled.
According to the media unit of the former President, Ekanayake was notified of the change in plans earlier today.
He had initially been summoned to appear before the CID at 9:00 a.m. to provide a statement regarding the ongoing investigation into the former President Ranil Wickremesinghe's visit to England.
Ekanayake had previously appeared before the CID in connection with the same matter, during which a statement was recorded.
