Manila, Nov. 4 -- Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa met India's Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman at the Ministry of Finance in New Delhi for discussions on deepening bilateral economic cooperation and regional integration.
Minister Sitharaman commended Sri Lanka's natural endowments and human talent, noting the importance of building on these strengths through closer engagement with India's dynamic economy. She said Sri Lankan industries could grow faster by accessing larger markets such as India and emphasized that stronger local industries would also enhance Sri Lanka's economic sovereignty.
