Sri Lanka, June 27 -- The government has planned to make safety belts compulsory for drivers of all passnger buses including Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) from July 1, National Tranport Board Chairman P.A. Chnadrapala said today.

He told the media during a briefing that the decision was taken to ensure the safety of the passengers.

He said it is important in the effort to maintain international standards in road safety.
