Sri Lanka, Dec. 5 -- A sum of Rs. 10 billion has been allocated to pay cash compensation to all disaster affected persons, Minister of Public Security Ananda Wijepala told Parliament today.
"The government has decided to pay compensation in cash as many disaster hit persons have lost their documents such as bank books and national identity cards," he said.
Also, he accepted that the recent cyclone has caused extensive damage to crops such as chillies and maize.
