Sri Lanka, Nov. 11 -- The Right to Information Commission has failed to attend to 308 requests for information from January 1, 2025, to September 30, 2025, it was revealed yesterday.
As per the information released to Opposition MP Ajith P. Perera, the RTI Commission has failed to attend to 112 inquiries. Accordingly, the number of unattended requests has increased in 2025.
The number of requests for information that have been fulfilled has also been reduced to 1,157 in 2025, compared to 1,837 in 2024. A total number of requests fulfilled in 2023 was 1,500 in 2023, 1,451 in 2022, 475, in 2021, 527, in 2020, 709 in 2029, 549 in 2018 and 57 in 2017.
