Srilanka, June 1 -- There has been a noticeable rise in illnesses such as dengue, chikungunya, and influenza among children in recent weeks, Lady Ridgeway Hospital (LRH) Consultant Pediatrician Dr. Deepal Perera said
He told the Daily Mirror that the recent adverse weather conditions have contributed significantly to the rise in mosquito-borne diseases such as dengue and chikungunya.
He requested the public to take proactive measures to destroy mosquito breeding grounds in and around their homes to curb the spread.
