Sri Lanka, April 30 -- A leading confectioner has recently warned about substandard products flooding the market. Children are a vulnerable lot in this situation as they are attracted to various kinds of chocolates and biscuits. The fact that many of these products are being advertised in a manner which attracts their target customer base makes matters worse. Ultimately children have to pay the price of substandard food items as they make develop various nutritional ailments. Some children may end up with conditions such as diarrhea due to expired products. Therefore the Consumer Affairs Authority and Public Health Inspectors need to monitor these products in the market to ensure that consumers have access to quality products.
