Sri Lanka, July 1 -- Red notices have been issued on 553 premises following inspections carried out today (July 1) under the ongoing National Mosquito Control Week, the Ministry of Health said.
A total of 22,294 premises were inspected during a special islandwide campaign to curb dengue and other mosquito-borne diseases.
According to Community Medical Specialist Dr. Prasheela Samaraweera, 4,965 locations with potential mosquito breeding grounds were identified, with active larvae detected at 657 sites.
Legal action has already been taken against 153 individuals for maintaining conditions conducive to mosquito breeding.
