Sri Lanka, Jan. 24 -- An organized criminal wanted under an international Red Notice has been repatriated to Sri Lanka from India following high-level coordination between Sri Lankan and Indian authorities, Police Headquarters said.

The suspect was taken into custody this evening (24 January 2026) at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA), Katunayake, by a team of officers from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). He was subsequently handed over to the Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of the Keselwatte Police for further investigations.
