Bangladesh, July 31 -- Wearing seat belts in the rear seats of all light vehicles travelling on expressways will be mandatory from tomorrow (August 1), the Ministry of Transport and Highways said.
The new regulation is aimed at enhancing road safety and will apply to all expressways across the country, including the Southern, Colombo-Katunayake, and Central Expressways.
The Ministry said that both drivers and rear-seat passengers must comply with the rule. Police officers and expressway authorities have been instructed to strictly enforce the regulation, and legal action will be taken against violators.
