Srilanka, Feb. 19 -- The government is ready to discuss with the opposition parties to resolve issues over the allocation of members in the Parliamentary committees, Leader of the House Bimal Ratnayake said today.

He told Parliament that the government has proposed to allocate more slots in Parliamentary committees such as the Business Committee, COPE, COPA, Back Benchers Committee and Consultative Committees and that more allocations have already been given in some committees.

He said this following the Speaker's announcement that the issue over the allocation of members in the Parliamentary committees must be resolved in a reasonable manner in a discussion with the government and opposition during the business committee meeting.
