Srilanka, Nov. 29 -- The Road Development Authority (RDA) says motorists can now reach Kandy town via the expressway to Kurunegala and through the Galagedara and Katugastota routes.

RDA Director General K. Wimal Kandambi said that although the road was cleared yesterday, it was blocked again due to earth mounds and rockfalls at two locations. "Those areas have now been cleared once more," he said.

He confirmed that access to Kandy through these main routes is technically open. However, Eng. Kandambi strongly requested the public not to use the road unless absolutely necessary, warning that heavy traffic would hinder ongoing repair and stabilisation work along the affected stretches.
