Sri Lanka, Dec. 17 -- Minister of Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs, Ananda Wijepala, visited Rajanganaya, an area severely affected by recent flooding, to assess the situation and implement measures to restore normalcy to the lives of residents.

During his visit, the Minister focused particularly on the impact of the floods on agriculture. He noted that several canals on the left bank of Rajanganaya had been damaged, posing a risk to over 150 acres of paddy cultivation.

"Upon learning of the canal damage, we immediately instructed relevant authorities to prepare a temporary pipe system to ensure water supply for the affected paddy fields," Minister Wijepala said.
