Sri Lanka, Dec. 22 -- The Department of Meteorology said that the prevailing rainy weather conditions across the island are expected to decrease over the next few days.

Director of the Weather Forecasting Division, Meryl Mendis said that while overall rainfall will reduce, some showers can still be expected in the eastern parts of the country.

According to the Department, showers are likely to occur in the Uva Province and in the Ampara, Batticaloa, Matale, Nuwara Eliya and Hambantota districts today (22). The rest of the island is expected to experience mainly dry weather conditions.
