Sri Lanka, Jan. 27 -- The Department of Railways has launched a new simulator-based training programme for newly appointed train drivers, using a state-of-the-art facility established at the German Technical Training Institute in Ratmalana. The initiative marks a major step toward modernising railway training and improving operational safety.

The training programme commenced yesterday (26) following an investment of 1.1 million and is designed to significantly enhance both the quality and efficiency of driver training.
