Sri Lanka, June 9 -- The Railways Department has announced the introduction of a new system aimed at providing special assistance to disabled passengers travelling by train.
According to Railways General Manager Dhammika Jayasundara, under this programme, railway staff will offer support to disabled passengers when boarding and alighting from trains, ensuring a safer and more convenient travel experience.
Passengers who wish to make use of this service are required to inform railway authorities in advance by calling the dedicated hotline number 1971.
