Sri Lanka, Dec. 21 -- Sri Lanka Railways will expand its ticket refund facility beyond Colombo from December 25, 2025, Transport Minister Bimal Ratnayake said.

He said that for decades the refund facility was available only at the Colombo Fort and Maradana railway stations.

The Minister said in a post on X that the refund facility will be available at Badulla, Ella, Bandarawela, Haputale, Nanuoya and Hatton from December 25.

He said the facility will also be available at the Anuradhapura, Jaffna and Batticaloa raiwlay stations as a pilot project.

He said the Kandy railway station will join the list from January next year.
