Srilanka, May 7 -- Executive Director of the Institute for Democratic Reforms and Electoral Studies (IRES), Manjula Gajanayake, today urged the public not to vote for any political leader or party attempting to postpone elections, adding that voters have sent a clear message in this regard.
Addressing the media, Gajanayake said that the results of the 2025 Local Government elections clearly reflect the political transformation that has taken place since 2018.
He pointed out that political parties attempting to delay the election process have begun to fade from the political landscape.
