Sri Lanka, Feb. 19 -- Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna National Organizer and Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa has called on the Government to take immediate steps to address the prevailing LP gas shortage reported in several parts of the island.
He said there were growing complaints from the public about difficulties in obtaining domestic gas cylinders and urged the authorities to implement urgent remedial measures.
As an immediate solution, Rajapaksa said he had requested the Government to release gas stocks from the gas terminal located within the Hambantota Port Economic Zone.
