Srilanka, Feb. 19 -- An investigation has revealed that a woman, disguised as a lawyer, had brought a revolver to the Colombo Hulftsdorp Court Complex with the intention of handing it over to the gunman responsible for the shooting of notorious underworld figure 'Ganemulla Sanjeewa.'

Police spokesperson SSP Buddhika Manathunga said that the assailant, also dressed in lawyer's attire, carried out the shooting of Sanjeewa in the chamber.

Sanjeewa had been brought to court this morning in connection with an ongoing case when he was critically injured in the attack. He later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
