Colombo, April 9 -- A probe is being carried out on an apparel company in Weligama which has refused to pay bonus to its employees by using the US Reciprocal tariff as an excuse, Deputy Minister of Labour Mahinda Jayasinghe told Parliament today.
The Deputy Minister said an initial probe has revealed that the company is not affected by the Reciprocal tariff.
The Deputy Minister revealed that workers attached to the factory have already launched a strike demanding a bonus for the Sinhala New Year.
