Sri Lanka, Dec. 31 -- Nagoda Teaching Hospital came under a shocking security breach yesterday when a prison inmate receiving treatment in Ward No. 14 became the target of a gunman, police confirmed.
While the extent of injuries has not yet been disclosed, authorities have launched a full investigation into the incident. The shooting has raised fresh concerns over the safety and security of patients, particularly high-risk individuals, within public hospitals.
Hospital management and police are reviewing existing security measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
