Sri Lanka, Aug. 3 -- The President needs security while he should enjoy recreation, Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP S.M. Marikar said today.

"The President needs adequate security while he needs recreation at times. A President, when carrying out his work, undergoes stress. Therefore he needs recreation as one should not work under stress all the time," the MP said.

He said former Presidents should also be given adequate security. Former Presidents are ones who have served the nation in the past. Therefore, there is nothing wrong in providing them with security. However, they should not be given additional luxuries such as staff and offices," the MP added.
