Sri Lanka, Dec. 8 -- President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has instructed officials to fast-track funding for the repair of roads, culverts, and embankments damaged in the Nuwara Eliya District, with all restoration work to be completed before the end of the year.

He issued the directive during a meeting held this morning (08) at the Nuwara Eliya District Secretariat to review the damage caused by Cyclone Ditva and to identify urgent recovery measures.

Officials briefed the President on the extent of the destruction and the time required to complete repairs. He also sought details on roads that cannot be reopened through routine restoration and requested a comprehensive report on such sections.
