Sri Lanka, May 20 -- Colombo, May 20 (Daily Mirror) - While difficultly paying tribute to the war heroes, President Anura Kumara Dissanayake reduced the war heroes to ordinary soldiers, Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa said.

Speaking to the media after the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) commemoration event held this morning at the National War Heroes' Monument, he said he could not understand how a victory after 30 years of war could be compared to a natural disaster.

"The freedom and peace gained after ending a 30-year war cannot be equated to a landslide after heavy rains. It seems he has twisted both stories. Either way, we will continue to give the war heroes the honour they deserve and not wait for War Heroes' Day to do so," MP...
