Sri Lanka, Aug. 11 -- Ports trade union leader Shyamal Sumanaratne today (11) filed a complaint with the Commission to Investigate Bribery or Corruption, alleging that the government is wasting over Rs. 50 million by altering the gate and access road system of Colombo Port's Eastern Terminal.

The original gate and access road system was developed at a cost exceeding Rs. 50 million and completed in 2014. However, in 2021, a decision was made to change this system, and after the current government took office, the new Managing Director of the Ports Authority began implementing new road planning for private terminals.
