Sri Lanka, Sept. 11 -- A group of politicians and foreign representatives visited the official residence of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa on Wijerama Road, Colombo, this morning, amid reports that he is set to vacate the premises today.
Under the provisions of the Presidents' Entitlements (Repeal) Act, residences allocated to former presidents must be returned to the government.
Rajapaksa, who has been occupying official residences, lost this entitlement following the enactment of the bill passed in Parliament yesterday (10).
