Srilanka, Feb. 1 -- Politicians should not suppress people through rigid rules and regulations but should take care of the people with tenderness, Archbishop of Colombo Cardinal Malclom Ranjith said today.

"Politicians should mingle among the people and should try to bring all ethnic and religious groups to love each other. We have had a long war waged with anger and hatred but now it is time to love each other," Cardinal Ranjith said speaking during a ceremony held to bless a new church in Kalagedihena today.
