Sri Lanka, May 25 -- In a significant step toward modernising traffic law enforcement, the Police Department is to be granted enhanced access to the data system of the Department of Motor Traffic (DMT), enabling more efficient issuing of fines for traffic violations.

The decision was announced today following a high-level discussion held at the DMT auditorium, where officials deliberated on strengthening coordination between the two departments.
