Sri Lanka, Jan. 16 -- Sri Lankan police have obtained red notices against 95 organised criminals currently hiding abroad.

Speaking at a media briefing today (16), Police Media Spokesperson ASP F.U. Wootler said that through red notices, 10 suspects were brought back to Sri Lanka in 2024, and 11 suspects in 2025.

He added that during the same period, 21 suspects were brought to the country under the Extradition Act. "In 2024, 10 suspects were returned through red notices, and in 2025, 11. Between 2024 and 2025, 21 suspects were brought under the Extradition Act," Wootler said.

According to the police, many criminals hiding abroad and involved in online crimes have been identified, leading to the issuance of 95 red notices to date.
