Sri Lanka, Sept. 2 -- Plans are afoot to renovate the Colombo Fort Railway Station at a cost of Rs. 1.3 billion funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Ministry of Transport, Highways, Ports and Civil Aviation announced.

The Ministry said that tenders have been called for the project and is expected to be completed within 15 months.

The project will transform the Fort Railway Station into a modern transport hub equipped with upgraded facilities, the Ministry said, adding that the development work is scheduled to commence by the end of this year.
