Srilanka, May 15 -- Former Eastern Province Chief Minister Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan alias Pillayan has filed a Fundamental Rights petition before the Supreme Court challenging his arrest in connection with the abduction and disappearance of Professor Sivasubramaniam Ravindranath, a former Vice-Chancellor of the Eastern University.
Pillayan was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Batticaloa on 8 April and detained for 90 days under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA) on 12 April.
