Sri Lanka, May 29 -- The Department of Pensions has announced that its information systems have been fully restored following a cyberattack in April.
Director General of the Department, Chaminda Waththiarachchi, assured the public that no data was lost or compromised during the incident and that all services, including pension payments, continued without disruption.
SLCERT Engineer Charuka Damunupola confirmed that the attack, identified as a ransomware incident, had temporarily affected the department's IT infrastructure.
However, swift action ensured that operations returned to normal with no lasting impact on data integrity or service delivery.
