Colombo, March 12 -- A passenger on a SriLankan Airlines flight from Mumbai to Katunayake Airport has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting passengers and flight attendants.
The incident occurred early this morning (12) on flight UL-144.
The 65-year-old dual citizen of Sweden and Sri Lanka, a Jaffna resident, was heavily intoxicated on the flight. He reportedly began behaving in a disruptive manner towards the passengers on board and later attempted to sexually assault two flight attendants.
After landing, the suspect was arrested by airport police and security officers.
He is scheduled to produce before the Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court today.
