Sri Lanka, Dec. 26 -- Police have arrested 322 drunk drivers during a special operation conducted yesterday.

During the operation, police checked 29,539 persons and arrested 493 suspects, including 15 individuals directly linked to criminal activities.

Among those arrested, 179 suspects had warrants issued against them, while 88 had open warrants.

In addition, 36 persons were arrested for reckless driving while 4,414 traffic offences were reported yesterday alone.
