Srilanka, Jan. 20 -- The tally of dengue cases recorded for 2025 has topped the 3,000 mark, according to the Epidemiology Unit.

As of January 19, a total of 3,185 cases have been reported in 2025, with the highest number being from the Gampaha district, which stood at 482.

The Western Province has recorded 1,442 cases, the highest province-wise.

Meanwhile, 2024 has so far reported two deaths related to dengue.

Health officials urge people to keep their surroundings clean and destroy mosquito breeding places in order to keep dengue at bay.
