Colombo, April 28 -- A total of 203 fresh complaints related to the upcoming Local Government elections have been reported, marking the highest number of complaints reported within a 24-hour period since March 20.
This surpasses 162 complaints reported up to 4.30 pm on April 19.
According to the Election Commission, a total of 3,276 cases have been reported during the period from March 20 to April 27.
Of the total complaints, the National Centre for Election Complaint Management received 272 while the District Centres for Election Complaint Management received 2,762.
All complaints were categorised as breaches of laws with 21 incidents of violence being reported.
