Sri Lanka, Jan. 4 -- The Open University of Sri Lanka (OUSL) made history by organizing the world's first carbon-neutral university convocation during its General Convocation 2025 (I) recently at the BMICH, Colombo.

This landmark initiative was spearheaded by Energy Academy (Pvt) Ltd in collaboration with recent graduates of the MSc in Energy for Circular Economy (MECE) Programme, marking a significant step in Sri Lanka's journey toward sustainable and environmentally responsible academic events. The convocation demonstrated how universities can champion climate action through innovation, youth leadership, and alignment with circular economy principles.
