Sri Lanka, Oct. 22 -- A 29-year-old man was killed and ten others were injured in a bus accident along the Mannar-Medawachchiya main road this morning (22), police said.

The accident occurred between the 35km and 36km posts when the driver of a private bus traveling from Colombo to Mannar lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer off the road and crash into a roadside tree.

The deceased was identified as a resident of Murunkan, Asikulam.

According to police, eight men and two women who were traveling in the bus sustained injuries and were admitted to the Mannar and Vavuniya hospitals for treatment. The bus driver is also among those injured.
