Sri Lanka, Dec. 10 -- The Railways Department announced that several office trains on the Main Line will resume operations from tomorrow (10), following the completion of urgent repair work in the Bujjomuwa area.
Train services were severely disrupted after a culvert near the Bujjomuwa railway station-located between Ambepussa and Alawwa-was damaged due to the overflow of the Ma Oya River. The incident caused a cavity nearly 45 feet deep beneath the track, forcing authorities to halt train operations on the Main, Northern and Eastern lines.
As a result, services were limited to the Colombo Fort-Ambepussa section for several days.
