Srilanka, May 6 -- The National People's Power (NPP) has claimed victory in the Balangoda Urban Council in the Ratnapura District, obtaining 4,833 votes and securing seven seats.

The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) received 3,232 votes and secured five seats, while the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) gained 1,442 votes and obtained two seats in the council.

Furthermore, the Independent Group obtained 664 votes and secured one seat.

The United National Party (UNP) received 458 votes and also secured one seat.
