Sri Lanka, Feb. 15 -- Jaffna District National People's Power (NPP) MP K. Ilankumaran was injured in a road accident earlier today at Chavakachcheri in Jaffna, police said.
The incident occurred while the MP's vehicle was en route from Kilinochchi to Jaffna.
Police said, a small lorry traveling ahead of the MP's car suddenly turned towards Chavakachcheriya, resulting in a collision with the vehicle carrying the parliamentarian. MP Ilankumaran, his assistant, and the driver of the car injured in the accident.
All three individuals were admitted to the Jaffna Teaching Hospital for treatment.
The Chavakachcheri Police have launched an investigation into the accident.
