Sri Lanka, July 30 -- The Indian Ocean Tsunami Warning and Mitigation System (IOTWS), through its Tsunami Service Provider in Indonesia (InaTEWS-BMKG), has confirmed that there is no tsunami threat in the Indian Ocean following a powerful undersea earthquake that struck off the East Coast of Kamchatka.

In its Public Tsunami Bulletin Number 2, issued at 01:53 UTC on July 30, 2025, the agency stated that the situation is being closely monitored and that the bulletin is intended for areas bordering the Indian Ocean.
