Srilanka, Feb. 20 -- Claiming that only isolated incidents were reported in different parts of the country, Public Security Minister Ananada Wijepala said today these isolated incidents must not be considered as threats to national security.

The Minister told Parliament that the government has ensured national security in the country and that they guarantee national security.

Responding to a question by Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa that the shooting incident in the Hulfsdorp Court complex poses a serious threat to national security, the Minister said isolated incidents reported in the country are clashes among organised criminal gangs.

He said such incidents had been reported in society over the years.
